Every year, people debate which spooky treat is the best Halloween candy. (As expected, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups came in first last year.) So, are there any surprises on the list this year? Instacart analyzed the trends in national sales data and surveyed thousands of people to determine which Halloween candy reigns supreme for 2024.
Top 10 Halloween Candies
According to the national survey, 50% of Americans will eat Halloween candy this year, and 45% will buy candy specifically for trick-or-treaters. As usual, tastes vary widely, from people who love chocolate and peanut butter combos to others who prefer sweet and sour candy.
In the month leading up to Halloween, shoppers will buy candy the day of (October 31) more than any other day.
Here’s what they’re buying most often, ranked from most to least purchased:
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
M&Ms
Snickers
Peanut M&M's
Twix
Kit Kat
Hershey's Milk Chocolate
Milky Way
Sour Patch Kids
Skittles
Ten candies contended for a top spot, but only three came in first for each state: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, M&M’s, and Peanut M&M’s. In a landslide, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were the most popular Halloween candy in 40 states!
To make things more interesting, Instacart dug into the data and pulled out the most “uniquely popular” candy. For example, people in Florida buy Milky Way Dark chocolate bars 248% more often than the national average. New York has a fascination with Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates, buying them 141% more than other states. Peek at the data below to see which candies are the most prized in your state.
A study (Brigham Young University) suggested that clean-smelling environments subtly encourage people to avoid bad behavior. The study was unusually simple and conclusive. Participants engaged in several tasks, the only difference being that some worked in unscented rooms, while others worked in rooms freshly spritzed with Windex. As a test of whether clean scents would enhance reciprocity, participants played a classic “trust game.” Subjects received $12 of real money (allegedly sent by an anonymous partner in another room). They had to decide how much of it to either keep or return to their partners who had trusted them to divide it fairly. Subjects in clean-scented rooms were less likely to exploit the trust of their partners, returning a significantly higher share of the money.

In a twist that could rival any family drama, Erik and Lyle Menéndez might be looking at a Thanksgiving homecoming instead of turkey behind bars. Their lawyer, Mark Geragos, shared some seriously hopeful news about the brothers’ potential release after Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón recommended they be resentenced. Can you imagine the stuffing flying if those two walked through the door? It certainly sounds like the makings of a reality show—thankfully, though, they already have a bizarre history behind them!
The recommendation from Gascón stems from new evidence, including fresh allegations regarding their late father’s abusive behaviors. Given that Erik and Lyle were under 26 years old when they were convicted for murdering their parents in their Beverly Hills home back in 1989, there’s a chance they could be eligible for immediate parole. The public’s interest has reignited due to the recent Netflix series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” making people reconsider their opinions about what the brothers went through. Who knew a binge-worthy drama could alter perspectives?
As these developments unfold, celebrity support is bubbling up like a warm pot of gravy. Kim Kardashian and actor Cooper Koch, who played Erik, are both showering the D.A.’s recommendation with praise. With the societal understanding of abuse evolving, the Menéndez brothers’ story is making headlines again, proving that sometimes the public does have the power to change things, one tweet and Instagram post at a time. If they end up at the Thanksgiving table, expect some awkward conversations on what to be thankful for!
Is it still Rock and Roll when Mary J. Blige and Kool & The Gang are being inducted into the Hall?
The simple answer is yes.
But maybe it's not so simple. Since the beginning, the Hall has included artists you wouldn't necessarily call "Rock and Roll". So, why are they in a Hall that's only supposed to be "Rockin"?
What does "Rock & Roll" mean?
That back-beat? Those fast guitars? That jamming bass line? Super cool lead singers full of swagger? Outrageous behavior? Of course! All of those things and more!
I don't think anyone could deny that Kool & The Gang songs have jamming bass lines. Are you going to try to tell me that Mary J. Blige doesn't have swagger? A Tribe Called Quest certainly qualifies under the outrageous behavior category.
But even though that would be enough to consider them for the Hall, that still doesn't make them "Rock & Roll".
So why are they in? Please understand that no one thinks they don't deserve to be in a place where they are recognized for their contribution to music. Every one of the inductees earned it, as they do every year. Maybe there is a Hip Hop & R&B Hall of Fame somewhere and they definitely will be in that, but they deserve to be in this Hall too.
And here's why...
The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame doesn't just celebrate artists in what is traditionally called "Rock & Roll". In this case, R&R is used as an umbrella term for all popular music genres. Well, not ALL genres. It really was a term that rebelled against what had been the popular music ever since music was enjoyed by the masses. For the sake of this discussion, we're going to be making reference to music from about 1900 on. This is when personal music really got a hold on folks. Never before could someone own their favorite songs just by going down to the store and buying a phonograph recording. It was, in the early days, mainly for the wealthy. So it was mostly what you'd expect. A lot of Jazz (including Ragtime), some country and western, blues, folk and gospel. In the 20's and 30's Big Band era made Swing popular. Trinidadian calypso, Argentinian tango, Dominican merengue, and other styles also influenced American popular music. Up until R&R was born, popular music was dominated by these styles. And even though we may be fond of some of those songs and styles, Rock & Roll they are not. Remember, we'd never heard anything like it before. It wasn't Billie Holiday. It wasn't Eddie Cantor. It wasn't Glenn Miller. Nor was it Bing, Frank or Lena. It was, in fact, directly opposed to that whole regime. It was about rebellion, flipping the bird to the status quo and turning everything on it's head. Then, the great Les Paul teamed up with the Gibson guitar company and released the first real electric guitar -THE instrument that would become a symbol for Rock perhaps more than any other - in 1952. Ike Turner (yes, THAT Ike Turner) released "Rocket 88" in the previous year. That song is widely considered to be the first "Rock and Roll" record. So R&R was, at first, a very specific style of music and still is. But it was the idea of R&R that made it what it is. The idea was that "this is not your parents' music". So it was about music that was anything but what older people were listening to. For newly realized rebels, it was a way to say "I'm not my parents! I don't want or have to listen to their music!" So when someone finally decided we needed to recognize how different it was from what came before, the Hall was first considered. It was anything but Jazz, swing, blues, etc. And it was the first style of music that was really championed by youth.
To sum up: The "Rock and Roll" in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame is not really about Rock and Roll music. It's more about the attitude of the music that rebelled against the establishment. Against Bing, Frank, and Lena. Not that I have anything against those three legendary performers...they just don't rock.
So that's why it's called The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and not The Anything That's Not What My Parents Listened To Hall Of Fame. You could barely fit that onto a t-shirt!

A recent study revealed that the top 10 percent of American drinkers guzzle down a staggering 74 alcoholic beverages per week. This equates to over four-and-a-half bottles of Jack Daniels, 18 bottles of wine, or three cases of beer in just seven days. Based on data from the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC), the analysis shed a bright light on the extreme drinking habits prevalent in the U.S. 30 percent of American adults don’t drink at all. Another 30 percent consume, on average, less than one drink per week.
Students who focus on music and drama have a better aptitude for math and reading. The Department of Education looked at 25,000 math scores and found that students who were deeply involved with any type of musical instrument did much better than students who were not. Students involved in drama did better in reading. Drama students were also less likely to tolerate racism. Music helps the brain think fluidly and mathematically. Drama may help students learn empathy for others.

Okay. I hear ya. It definitely depends on the movie, right?
I mean, nobody's trying to go to ZOMBIELAND for laughs.
But if you’ve ever daydreamed about stepping into the world of “Beetlejuice,” your wildest fantasies are about to get a whole lot weirder and a little more feasible. Actually, possible is a word I might use.

Rolling Stone is reporting that Justin Timberlake has come down with bronchitis and laryngitis, forcing him to push a handful of upcoming tour dates to next year.
Timberlake shared the news on social media, writing,
“Hey guys — I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis. I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2.”
The postponed gigs covered a Midwest run that included stops in Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Columbus. Timberlake has already shared new dates for the shows which will all take place next February.
“Thank you for understanding,” Timberlake wrote. “I’ll make it up to you.”
Earlier this month, Timberlake was forced to postpone a gig in Newark, New Jersey just hours before he was supposed to hit the stage because of an injury. Timberlake did not offer any details about the injury, though it appeared to be minor as he was able to perform a few days later in Philadelphia. (The Newark date was made up not long after on Oct. 15.) Timberlake also had to call off a show in London this past February after coming down with “some kind of bug.”
A study (Australian National University and University of Nevada) found that having more books growing up, even if you don’t read them, improves educational outcomes. The study found strong correlations between the number of books owned at age 16 and later-in-life literacy, math, and IT skills. The households with the most books are in Estonia, with an average of 218 books per house. Norway came in second with an average of 212 books per house. The US doesn’t crack the top ten.
The first time I ever heard "My Name Is" in early 1999 I knew this was something unique. I didn't fully know the impact he would have on popular culture and the music industry at large. But it didn't take long.
The beginning.
Eminem scored second place in the freestyle category at the 1997 Rap Olympics in Los Angeles, catching the attention of Dr. Dre, who later became his producer and mentor. In 1999, Eminem released The Slim Shady LP and the rest is history. The album sold millions of copies and earned Eminem two Grammy Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards.
The King Of Rap or "Rap God"?
It has been said that Eminem has the largest vocabulary for a recording artist, and with good reason. In the third verse of his No. 1 single “Godzilla,” the King of Rap squeezes 225 words into a single 30-second segment — averaging 7.5 words per second.
Guinness World Records music consultant Matthew White particularly enjoys monitoring this record.
“I love this record because so many people are trying to beat it,” said Matthew. It set off a bit of a competition in the rap world and it’s been really fun to see people try to outdo Eminem.
Meanwhile, Eminem’s song “Rap God” squeezes 1,560 words into a 6-minute and 4-second song, averaging 4.28 words per second. According to a music study that looked at the number of unique words used by certain artists, Eminem topped the list with 8,818 unique words used in the lyrics of his 100 lengthiest tracks. The study mentions that Eminem averages using a word he has never previously used about every 11 words or so.
Smash The Charts
As a solo artist, Eminem has hit the top spot on the US Billboard 200 album chart six times in a row, from The Marshall Mathers LP to Recovery, which debuted at No. 1 on 10 July 2010. All of his solo albums entered the chart at No. 1, achieving the most successive US No. 1 albums by a solo artist.
The Records Keep Coming
Eminem has also earned a record title for the most streamed non-single on Spotify.
“Till I Collapse,” the 18th track on Eminem’s fourth studio album The Eminem Show has been streamed 1,365,826,737 times on Spotify since 28 June 2022.
He holds additional records for:
(This is by no means a complete list, but impressive nonetheless)
Most simultaneous albums on the US Billboard 20 by a rapper - 8

Half of us has cracked or broken a smartphone screen at one time or another. And it was probably because we dropped it. Someone did a survey on cracked screens and the result is not at all surprising. The other big reasons we break our screens: forgetting it’s in a back pocket and sitting down; a child dropping it; trying to toss it onto a bed or sofa and it bouncing off; throwing it when we’re angry.

P!nk has called off four upcoming concert dates on her Summer Carnival Tour.
“Due to reasons beyond my control, we need to postpone our next four shows in Lincoln, Sioux Falls, Milwaukee, and Des Moines,” the pop star wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday (Oct. 19).
She did not elaborate on what the reasons were, but expressed remorse in having to make the announcement. P!nk previously canceled a tour date on doctor’s orders in July due to an unspecified health issue.
So far none of these dates has been postponed or otherwise affected by whatever caused those four midwest dates to be postponed. For Texas and Oklahoma, GET READY FOR P!NK!

Liam Payne’s recent untimely death is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. While the world mourns the loss of the One Direction star, news is emerging that paints a dark picture of his final hours. Autopsy results revealed he had several substances in his system—including cocaine, crack, and a concoction known as “pink cocaine.” It’s a heartbreaking reminder that the glitz and glamor of fame often hides deeper struggles that fans may never see.
And as if that wasn’t enough, police found a scene in his hotel room that looks like a set from a reality show gone wrong. Broken furniture, drug paraphernalia, and even a bottle of alcohol alongside prescription anxiety meds—it sounds like a party that took all the wrong turns. It’s terrifying to think that such a talented artist felt he needed to drown his pain with substances, throwing caution to the wind when he should’ve been singing his heart out instead.
Despite declaring himself sober earlier this year, the evidence suggests the pressures of fame weighed heavily on him—a tragic irony for someone adored by millions. It makes you wonder what goes on behind the curtain of celebrity life, where image and reality can be worlds apart. Let’s face it, there are sad endings, and then there are sad endings that remind us to check on our friends—celebrities included—because sometimes it’s the ones with the brightest lights that struggle the most.
Ultimately, it’s a stark wake-up call that fame and success come with their own demons. And if even a superstar can stumble down that path, what does it say about the rest of us? It’s a sobering thought, leaving fans to grieve not just a singer but a life cut tragically short.

PEOPLE magazine reports: It's likely Liam Payne was using substances in the time leading up to his death.
A source in the prosecutor’s office with knowledge of the investigation, who requested to remain confidential because of the sensitivity of his position, tells PEOPLE that prosecutors believe the drugs were procured for Payne by a hotel employee before the former One Direction member fell multiple stories at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and died at age 31 on Oct. 16.
"There appears to be evidence that a hotel employee sourced the drugs for Payne," the source says. "An indictment for drugs distribution could follow shortly."
The big show in the sky tonight is the comet, Tsuchinshan-Atlas. It will be amazing about an hour after sundown, looking West. But there is another pretty cool sight to see.
The Orionid Meteor Shower.
Don't be afraid. The term "meteor shower" might give you the idea of a light shower... OF FIRE AND DESRTRUCTION FROM THE SKY! Relax. You're 99.99999% safe from meteors.
The Orionids radiate from a point near the upraised club of the constellation Orion the Hunter. The bright star near the radiant point is the reddish Betelgeuse. You might catch an Orionid meteor any time between about September 26 to November 22. From a dark location you might see 10 to 20 Orionids per hour at their peak. There’s always the element of uncertainty and possible surprise when it comes to meteor showers, though. These fast-moving meteors occasionally leave persistent trains or trails. The Orionids also sometimes produce bright fireballs or break up into fragments creating spectacular displays.
In 2024, the Orionid meteor shower should rain down its greatest number of meteors on the mornings of October 20 and 21. The morning of October 21 might bring the richest display of meteors. However, the waning gibbous moon will interfere with the meteor shower. Bummer. Also: clouds will really screw it up.
So, what exactly are meteors and where do they come from?
The Orionid meteors that we observe are actually fragments and bits of ice and/or debris that have been broken off of the most famous comet in history. That comet is, of course, Halley’s Comet. This comet orbits the sun every 76 years or so, and we intercept this path in late October each year. The official name for Halley’s Comet is 1P/Halley. It was the first comet to have its return predicted, and Edmond Halley was the one who made that calculation. The comet typically gets bright enough to be easily visible with recorded observations since 240 CE. It is one of only a few comets named not after its discoverer but after the person who calculated its orbit. Unlike most solar system objects, Halley’s Comet orbits the sun in a retrograde orbit, going around the sun in the opposite direction than we do.
The Orionids are produced from Halley’s Comet’s particles on its inbound leg. They are moving in one direction, we are moving in nearly the opposite direction, and the combined speeds produce fast-moving meteors. But we also encounter its particles from its outbound leg when it’s leaving the inner solar system. We reach that point in early May. They produce the Eta Aquariids meteor shower. So this comet generates two meteor showers. BONUS!
There's an app for that!
For help tracking The Orionids, Halley's Comet or any other cosmic phenomenon, try downloading a free-to-download app called SKYSAFARI. It's an astronomy app for Android that helps users locate stars, constellations, planets, and other celestial objects in the night sky. It's got an augmented reality (AR) mode, which blends the real sky with a planetarium view showing over 120,000 stars, 222 star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, plus all the major planets and moons in the solar system. Includes an eclipse viewing guide with expert advice and it is regularly updated to support the latest version of Android. This is the one I personally enjoy and use quite a bit. It's available in your Google Play Store.
For the PC, try STELLARIUM. Lots of pretty great interactive features including a realistic sky view, as seen from your current location and time. You can use your mouse or keyboard to navigate and interact with the sky. Stellarium can also place you at any point on the earth's surface on any date and time of day, staring up and out into deep space. Pretty freakin' cool! It's free-to-download at:

BUENOS AIRES, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Former One Direction singer Liam Payne was found dead outside a hotel in Buenos Aires after falling from his third-floor room balcony, Argentine police confirmed on Wednesday.
In a statement, the capital police said they were called to the hotel in the capital's leafy Palermo neighborhood where they were notified of an "aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol."
The hotel manager said he heard a loud noise at the back of the hotel, and when police arrived they found that a man had fallen over the balcony in his room, the statement said.
Emergency workers confirmed the death of the 31-year-old British singer, who was reportedly found in the hotel's interior patio.
"We’re deeply saddened to learn of Liam Payne’s tragic passing today. During this difficult time, our hearts remain with his family, loved ones, and fans," MTV said on X.
Neither Payne's record label Republic Records, nor its owner Universal Music Group could immediately be reached for comment.

Ariana Grande proves why she's a non-stop talent and one of the best singers around. Hosting SNL for her second time, she started off the show saying she wouldn't sing.
Right. How could she not sing?
Her musical guest on the show was the legendary Stevie Nicks, so the music was taken care of and all Ariana had to worry about was the comedy.
We need your help choosing between these two new songs. Listen to Jennie "Mantra" and The Kid Laroi f/Gunna "Baby I'm Back" and then weigh in below to cast your vote and impact the Magic 95 playlist.

Chappell Roan didn’t hold back at the Austin City Limits Music Festival when she decided to use her platform to settle some old scores. During her performance of “My Kink Is Karma,” she boldly called out a former theater teacher who kicked her out of class, labeling her a “b****” right in front of thousands of fans. Talk about adding a bit of spice to a music festival! While most artists might shy away from stirring the pot, Roan turned her personal drama into a moment of catharsis— proving that sometimes, the best revenge is a fearless performance.
Roan’s fans are already rallying behind her, creating hashtags and sharing their own sentiments on social media. Can you blame them? One fan even encouraged others to “ride at dawn” against the teacher. It’s a classic underdog story, and it’s hard not to root for someone who’s so unapologetically true to their feelings. It seems we’ve got another artist who’s not afraid to drag a little drama from their past into the spotlight.
This isn’t the first time Roan has been open about her struggles and triumphs. She recently pulled out of the All Things Go festival, citing feeling overwhelmed, which just goes to show that the pressure of fame can be a double-edged sword. But for now, it’s about sprinkling some well-deserved shade at her old teacher—and honestly, we can’t help but laugh at the sheer audacity of it all. Who knew therapy could come in the form of a catchy pop song?

Sgt Dimmitt with Lawton Police Department on Live with Indie and Crash! LPD is recruiting new police officers and we get all the details on starting salary, benefits and the various opportunities on the force.
A police officer experiences much variety in their day-to-day assignments. If you're seeking a new career, this might be just the path you've been seeking.
Weightlifting for just 20 minutes a day could boost memory by 10 percent. Participants in the study (Georgia Institute of Technology) described as 46 healthy young adults tried to remember 90 photos displayed on a computer. Half of the group then did 50 reps of leg extensions, the others just sat in the chair and let the machine do all the work. They returned to the lab two days later to view 180 photos (90 from the prior session and 90 new images). The leg extension group, it turned out, was also able to extend their memory. They were able to recall about 60 percent of the photos from the previous session, while the control group could only remember 50 percent.
Justin Timberlake suddenly postponed Tuesday's show at the Prudential Center in Newark, citing an injury...certainly not from driving.
Yeah, we got jokes.
The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
Shortly before, the star posted on social media, writing:
"I am so sorry to postpone tonight's show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I'm so disappointed to not see you all - but I am working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y'all deserve. Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always."
A message on the Prudential Center's website confirms they are working to reschedule the show.
"We are working with the artist's team on a rescheduled date that we hope to have information on as soon as possible," the venue posted.
The venue says ticket holders should watch for updates on social media and in their email.
Timberlake's "Forget Tomorrow" World Tour performed the night before at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. He also appeared at the Prudential Center last weekend, his first local performance since pleading guilty to driving while impaired over the summer on Long Island.
His next stop is the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia on Friday. It's unclear if that show will be impacted.
The specifics on the injury were not revealed. The mystery injury is probably a minor one since only one show was postponed. So far, his next show in Philadelphia has not been postponed. If the injury was more serious, they would have postponed more than just the one show.
Indie and I were just talking about this this morning on the morning show.
When exactly is it appropriate to begin embracing the festive spirit? 43 percent of Americans think it’s suitable to put up holiday decorations before November 1.
Looks like *Joker: Folie à Deux* isn’t living up to the hype. The film opened with an underwhelming $40 million—especially when compared to its predecessor that topped $96 million on its opening weekend. Wow, talk about a sequel that just can’t catch a break! Fans were excited to see Joaquin Phoenix return as Arthur Fleck and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, but it seems like this time, they left some serious cash at the box office.
Adding to the drama, a same-sex kiss scene that featured Lady Gaga and an unnamed woman was cut from the film, leaving fans curious about what other surprises might’ve been left on the cutting room floor. Director Todd Phillips explained that it just didn’t flow with the vibe he was aiming for. Seems like improvising a kiss in the middle of a tense moment isn’t always the best idea in Hollywood, huh?
Now, this film has been given a D CinemaScore, making it the first comic book movie to score this low. That’s a major buzzkill, but at least it’s a snazzy conversation starter, right? Just keep in mind that this movie had a budget of $190 million—almost triple what the original cost to make! It’s a reminder that not every highly anticipated follow-up is guaranteed to be a box-office smash, especially when it gets a D rating. Lesson learned: some moments are better left unseen.
So, what’s next? Can they recover from this stumble? Only time will tell, but here’s hoping they keep the magic rolling without making us wait until the next holiday season!
Top 5 Most Naked Music Videos in the History of Nudity and Music and Videos.
What's the difference between being "naked" and being "nekked"?
When your "naked", you don't have any clothes on.
When your "nekked", you don't have any clothes on...and you're up to something!
People love nakedness. Not just being naked, but singing and dancing naked too! I don't mean strippers. I don't mean porn stars. Those fine folks get naked as part of their job. I mean people who don't make a living being naked. I'm talking famous people. Famous people who get naked because they want to, and they want us to see them naked. I can't think of anywhere else but music videos where that kind of behavior is acceptable...I mean, outside of porn and stripping. Sure, plenty of folks get naked or partially naked in the movies. But how do you know it's really them? Does it matter? Not for most people. Music videos, however, are the abused offspring of movies and plenty of artist have chosen to go sans garb to get more views or clicks. The latest video from Tate McRae, "It's Ok I'm Ok" is hot right now. Is Tate naked in the video? Mostly but not totally. Just very scantily clad.
In tribute to these salacious clothes-optional moments, let's celebrate the ten most naked videos, ever!
These are not in any particular order. I mean, they are not graded on total amount of nudity. That would be a little pervy, right? Right? Anyway...
Miley Cyrus, "Wrecking Ball" (2013)
This was actually a really pretty song, but it became beside the point when Ms. Montana released a video of herself straddling a wrecking ball, stark naked. She broke the internet with this one.
Britney Spears, "Womanizer" (2008)
BritBrit went full-on nude, all sweaty and self-tanned in a sauna in this video. To my mind though, she's always been at least a bit naked.
Katy Perry, "California Gurls" (2010)
Katy Perry is candy. Jaw-droppingly sugary, floating on a sugar-spun cloud. With lilac hair. Hard to unsee...and I am grateful for that.
Nine Inch Nails, "Closer" (1994)
A naked steam punk nightmare. Trent Reznor in some quite compromising S&M moments, and a nude, bald chick rocking a goat's head. This video proves that naked can be disturbingly non-sexy. For me anyway.
Blink-182, "What's My Age Again" (1998)
Legendary! The three band members totally naked, running through the streets of Los Angeles. It became so ubiquitous that the trio were soon thought of as the "nude" band -- even showing up to TRL sans clothes. Ah, those were the days. When MTV actually played videos.
There you have it. All naked and stuff...
Here are a couple of honorable mentions:
Alanis Morissette, "Thank You" (1998)
Alanis felt that she needed to be nude in the streets for this tribute to all she was thankful for - and who are we to argue?
Robin Thicke, "Blurred Lines" (2013)
Nothing blurry about those lines.
In a troubling turn of events, Charlotte “Bowie” Drozd, the 16-year-old daughter of The Flaming Lips drummer Steven Drozd, has gone missing after being last seen near the iconic Seattle Space Needle. The Seattle police have categorically stated that this isn’t just another runaway case; instead, they’re treating it as an active missing person investigation. It’s disheartening to see parents in the spotlight grappling with such serious issues while the rest of us are preoccupied with trying to figure out which TikTok dance we should learn next.
While Bowie’s disappearance has understandably caused distress for her family and friends, her father, Steven, and fellow bandmate Wayne Coyne are channeling their energy into raising awareness. Wayne took to Instagram with a heart-wrenching plea, sharing a missing person flyer for Bowie. Nothing says “rock solid support” quite like your bandmate rallying the troops for a missing person case—hopefully, it’ll lead to Bowie’s safe return. And of course, a slew of celebrities including Jack Black and Flea have joined the cause, proving once again that it takes a village, even if that village includes people who can sell out an arena in minutes.
As the community waits with bated breath for updates from the police, there’s hope that more information will surface soon. Imagine being part of a rock family and dealing with such a terrifying situation; it definitely puts a spin on the phrase “rock and roll lifestyle.” Here’s wishing for the best outcome in a story that certainly strikes a chord with anyone who has a loved one who could vanish in the blink of an eye. Don’t forget to check in with your friends and family—life’s too short to take that relationship for granted!
It’s the must-have power tool of autumn: the electric or gas-powered leaf blower. A real time-saver, right? Not so, says fitness researcher David Powell. Powell says a typical homeowner saves no more time using a leaf blower over a good, large leaf rake — and raking is better for you since you’re burning calories and working a dozen or more muscle groups.
You won’t believe what just happened at a Minneapolis playground! A 10-year-old boy apparently took matters into his own hands and decided to go for a little joyride. But rather than cruising around the block, this pint-sized driver barreled through a park where children were playing, leaving parents in shock and a few kids probably checking their pulse. It’s like a scene straight out of a wild comedy—except this time, it was all too real!
Surveillance footage shows the chaos unfolding as the car zoomed through Nellie Stone Johnson School’s playground. Adult supervisors scrambled to gather kids and get them to safety while they likely had just one thought: “Is this really happening?” Thankfully, no one was injured, which is really the silver lining. But, hey, let’s take a moment to reflect on the whole ‘what were you thinking?’ vibe here. This kid’s had more adventures behind the wheel than most adults!
But it doesn’t stop there. Authorities arrested the young daredevil for probable cause of second-degree assault. Yup, this little speedster isn’t a first-time offender—he’s apparently got a rap sheet that would make you question how he learned to drive in the first place! One has to wonder what parental support looks like in a household where joyrides are not just common, but reportedly second nature. Guess we can thank the ‘joyride gods’ no one got hurt!
So here’s a thought—what’s going on with the driving age these days? Maybe we need to hold some parenting classes on “How to Keep Your Keys Away from Your Kids.” Still, one has to ponder, with skills like that, maybe the kid’s just ahead of the game—think of him as our next NASCAR prodigy in the making! Maybe upcoming family road trips should involve a little extra supervision!
Listen to these two new songs, Gracie Abrams "I Love You, I'm Sorry" and Eminem f/Skylar Grey "Temporary." Then, scroll down and let us know which one you like more to help us choose the new music we play on Magic 95.
Why are you always looking down on people? I don't mean that you think you're better than other people. I mean you're very tall and probably know what the tops of everyone's heads look like. Are you always being asked to get something off the top shelf for shorties? Do you have to duck when going through normal doorways? You are tall. Celebrities often appear larger than life on the big and small screens—and on red carpets, for that matter—regardless of their actual height. After all, in Hollywood, not everything is what it seems. Angles and camera tricks abound, creating whatever illusion or image the creative team behind that project wants to convey. But there are a few stars who are actually tall—and you might not even realize it. (Keep in mind that the average height for men and women in the United States is 5' 9" and 5'4", respectively.)
How do you stack up against some of your favorite celebrities? Use the following handy chart to compare:

Sabrina Carpenter has a candid message for the haters who disapprove of her Short N’ Sweet tour outfits.
In conversation with Time as one of their 2024 Time100 Next artists, the 25-year-old performer told her fashion critics to stay home if they’re not satisfied by her wardrobe choices.
“To that I just say, don’t come to the show, and that’s OK,” she said in the article published on October 2.
The “Please Please Please” artist has presented a sequence of flirty, feminine fashion on stage since her Short N’ Sweet tour kicked off on September 23. Since then, Carpenter has worn a Swarvoski crystal-studded two-piece by provocative French designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin, a shimmery bodice and matching garters, and a black lace catsuit by Patou for her sold-out crowds of young girls, reluctant boyfriends, and even a few moms.
While her wardrobe – styled and picked by Jared Ellner – flows synonymously with her allure and lustful ballads, a few showgoers and at-home viewers have expressed distaste for the outfit picks. Still, Carpenter blocks out the noise by remembering how her role models – Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Beyoncé – used fashion as a mechanism for self-confidence on stage.
“It’s unfortunate that it’s ever been something to criticize, because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it’s nothing,” the “Taste” singer noted. “If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you’ve got to do.”
To Carpenter, all the negligees, feathers, and flouncy chiffon robes add to her current persona – embodying the femininity she’s always embraced. And while her former concert looks – as seen during her Emails I Can’t Send and Eras Tour shows – reflected a more playful, Bratz-like style, now she’s tapping into a new sense of conviction with bolder, barely-there choices.
She added: “If right now that means corsets and garter belts and fuzzy robes or whatever the f***, then that’s what that means.”
A survey shows 64 percent of adults are scared of bugs. Interestingly, men were more likely than women to be “very scared” of bugs — 32 percent vs. 22 percent.
Okay...let's be honest. Frank Sinatra and The Beatles are pretty far apart on the musical spectrum. Ole Blue Eyes wasn't a huge fan of The Fab Four. That's not saying they didn't share a bit of musical taste with each other. In fact, Sinatra actually covered the Beatles' "Something" on his 1972 greatest hits package. But there was one song from the 70's that John Lennon and Frank Sinatra agreed was the best of that decade. Which song could unite the legendary Hoboken crooner with the mop top from Liverpool?
“Reminiscing” by The Little River Band

Besides being one of Frank Sinatra and John Lennon’s favorites, “Reminiscing” was The Little River Band’s most successful single in the U.S., peaking at number three on both the Billboard 200 and Cash Box charts. “Reminiscing” was named Australian Record of the Year at the 1978 King of Pop Awards. In the time since it's release it has become a favorite wedding anniversary song, been used in many movie and tv soundtracks. And in concert, it's definitely a crowd favorite. Give it a listen!
