Do you have so many online accounts that you can barely keep track of where you’re registered, let alone what the passwords are? You’re certainly not alone. Even Fernando Corbató, a computer scientist who is one of the people credited with inventing the computer password over 60 years ago, kept all of his on a few typed sheets of paper. Passwords came about to simplify life in the early 1960s while using a mainframe: researchers at MIT were sharing a disk file and needed separate accounts. To keep each other out of their accounts, each one had its own password.

Travel can be stressful, but packing shouldn’t be — after all it’s one of the things we get to do in anticipation of the trip. But apparently I’m a near loner in this thought because a survey of adults finds 70 percent are stressed out by packing for a trip. The survey found packing to be more stressful than the actual travel.

The odds of having a male baby also sharply increased for women who had at least one bowl of breakfast cereal each day compared to women who ate less than or equal to one bowl a week. The study (published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences) found that a low-calorie diet is more likely to yield a girl baby.

Ryan Gosling, the heartthrob known for stealing scenes (and hearts), seems to have hit a snag with his latest cinematic adventure, ‘The Fall Guy’. Despite embarking on what seemed like an eternal press marathon across every conceivable media outlet, the action-packed endeavor has stumbled out of the gate, with box office numbers not living up to expectations. Yes, folks, it appears even the Gosling charm has its limits when it comes to drawing crowds into theaters.
However, before we start penning obituaries for what could have been Gosling’s next big hit, let’s remember that Hollywood is no stranger to slow starters that eventually pick up steam. ‘The Fall Guy’ has faced its first hurdle with less-than-stellar numbers, but in the cinematic universe, it’s not over until the final credits roll. Could this be a sleeper hit in disguise, or is it destined to be forgotten in the bargain bin of history? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for certain: Gosling’s press run can only be described as heroic, if not Sisyphean, in its effort to lift this movie out of its initial slump.

Dua Lipa, the 28-year-old pop sensation, celebrated the release of her third studio album, Radical Optimism, with a heartfelt note to her fans about the profound journey the album’s creation spurred in her own life. Introduced to the concept of ‘radical optimism’ by a friend in 2021, Lipa embraced this ethos, weaving it through her latest work. She reflects on the past few years, highlighting how navigating through periods of instability and uncertainty has fostered a newfound happiness and joy within her. According to Lipa, the process of creating Radical Optimism not only transformed her as a person but also as an artist, attributing this growth to the powerful and uplifting themes that the album explores.
Complementing the album’s release, Lipa engaged her fanbase with a novel digital initiative by partnering with Instagram to introduce the Add Yours Music sticker, facilitating users to share their favorite tracks from Radical Optimism directly on their stories. This move underscores her desire to connect with her audience and share in the collective joy and optimism that her music endeavors to inspire. Additionally, Dua Lipa’s shift towards a more modern dance/Euro-pop sound with singles like “Houdini,” “Training Season,” and “Illusion” marks a sonic departure from the neo-disco vibes of her 2020 album, Future Nostalgia, showcasing her versatility as an artist. With Radical Optimism now in the hands of her fans, Lipa looks forward to seeing her songs serve as a beacon of hope and positivity in their lives, proving that sometimes, a good beat is all you need to find a little sunshine on a cloudy day

Travis Kelce, the renowned tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, recently took to his podcast, “New Heights,” to recount the exhilarating times he had at a charity event hosted by his teammate Patrick Mahomes. His narrative comes amidst a swirl of media attention that was drawn due to sightings of Kelce being “affectionate” at the event, where notable figures including Taylor Swift were present. The charity festivities that captured the public’s imagination involved a golf tournament followed by a gala, both of which Kelce described as having enjoyed immensely.
Kelce’s enthusiasm about the events was palpable as he detailed the engaging activities and the spirited ambiance of both the golf game and the evening gala. The outings not only served as a platform for raising awareness and funds for a charitable cause but also provided a rare glimpse into the social dynamics among celebrated personalities like himself, Mahomes, and Swift. While the specifics of the “affectionate” interactions were not disclosed, it’s clear that the charity event was a hit, leaving all involved with memories of a delightful experience. After all, when golf clubs, gala gowns, and glimpses of goodwill come together, who wouldn’t have an “absolute blast”?
